Excerpt from “Love in the Time of Rising Gas Prices”
Without signaling, Ray Norsi pulled over by the stretch of mountain road known as Lookout Below and got out. There it was, the town of Blind Peaks. It slouched like a wrinkled corpse under a blazing hot sun. Its sunburned legs angled and twisted, one foot missing a shoe, the other, two toes. Its severed head placed artfully, though with obscure purpose, beside its body. The manicured right hand perched in loving possessiveness across the hairless skullcap, and sticking out the nostrils, two straws, the bending kind, with stripes.
This is how Ray Norsi saw the town. What a fun guy. Imagine sitting next to him on a long flight?
